The Foreign Affairs Office is an administrative unit proudly committed to the purpose of supporting the University's mission by providing a quality international platform for academic exchange, scientific cooperation, cultural communication, introduction of foreign intellectual resources, international students enrollment & education (including students from Hong Kong and Macao), etc. as well as all related services. In handling these and other international affairs, we'll always follow our carefully-formulated 4-C principle:
- Connection of wide range to the world, including visits of all types to and fro
- Cooperation in education with the world, including student exchange programs, short-term training programs, and enrollment of students from abroad, Hong Kong and Macao
- Collaboration in scientific research throughout the world, including teacher exchange programs
- Communication of cultures around the world, including international staff employment and management
- Develop the university's overall international exchange and cooperation so as to promote the school's teaching, research and management in light of the related policies of China's central and local governments as well as the policies and reality of our university.
- Formulate policies and regulations on handling foreign affairs and Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan affairs, including inviting and supervising foreign experts, enrolling and educating overseas students, managing the going-abroad and visits to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of the university's staff, taking care of visits of people from abroad, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to our university, supervising co-operative education and research programs, etc.
- Represent the University in handling foreign affairs and Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan affairs through scientific planning, sound coordination, canonical management and effective execution.
- Strengthen the publicity of the University to the outside world and regions of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, so as to expand and reinforce academic exchange, educational cooperation, cultural communication, foreign intellectual resources introduction, international student enrollment and education, etc.
- Supervise the university's going-abroad and visits to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions, providing corresponding services like passport application, visa application, foreign currency exchange, overseas insurance purchase, national security education, etc. to those who are eligible to go abroad or enter Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan for a friendly visit, inspection, academic conference, lecture, joint research, further study, or co-operative education, etc.
- Recruit and supervise international staff (foreign experts & teachers), assisting them in applying for the working permit, professional visa (Z Visa), Health Certificate, Foreign Experts Certificate, Residential Permit, re-entry, and other documents, providing them with proper housing, orientation, health & accident insurance, living & working conditions, personal & property security, living guidance, cultural tour within China, etc.
- Build an academic bridge with the outside world by inviting outstanding scholars, professors, and specialists throughout the world to give lectures, attend international conferences, collaborate in scientific research, instruct degree students, etc.
- Act as a bridge between our faculties and overseas universities and institutions to the success in co-operative education programs and joint research projects.
- Enroll, supervise and serve international students and Hong Kong & Macao students to promote the international education career of our university.
- Engage famous scholars and experts all over the world as honorary professors, visiting professors or part-time professors.
- Contract as many friendships as possible with overseas universities and institutes, with the hope of concluding sister universities in which student exchange programs, teacher exchange program, joint education programs, etc. may result.
- Organize in a variety of forms cultural communication activities in which college students from different cultural backgrounds may enjoy exchange of ideas, experience, etc. and make friends, and our international staff may get a chance to know more about China and the people.
- Seek international sponsors or partners who would generously invest their money in our university to fuel our scientific and academic development, or to aid our students with financial problems
