The college has achieved high-level results in traditional marine multi-scale processes and climate response, marine biogeochemical processes and mechanisms, and marine environmental monitoring and disaster prediction technologies, contributing to the high-quality development of regional marine and meteorological industries. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 130 projects, including National Natural Science Foundation key projects, key research and development programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and major projects in Guangdong Province, with research funding exceeding 58 million RMB. The faculty has published over 100 papers in top journals such as Nature Communications (NC), Journal of Physical Oceanography (JPO), Journal of Geophysical Research (JGR), Journal of Climate (JC), Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (P3), and Limnology and Oceanography (L&O), authored nine books, and obtained over 80 patents. Additionally, they have received six provincial and ministerial science and technology achievement awards.
